This Friday, Díaz-Canel toured the Los Pitos Base Business Unit, of the Benito Juárez Agricultural Company, where he learned about the progress of the National Highway Development Zone, in which more than 40 young people are involved as owners, usufructuaries or part of labor groups.
The president spoke with the young Yaniel Negrín, who since he graduated from Military Service, is in charge of a farm, where tobacco and various crops are planted.
Accompanied by the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, the president visited the Placetas Dairy Products Base Business Unit.
In that entity, although due to material limitations it had to reduce its productive capacity, its workers have looked for alternatives and are already making profits.
After the tour of the company, before a group of locals who were waiting for him in the town’s central park, Díaz-Canel highlighted the initiatives that the dairy workers have sought, with alternatives that were previously unthinkable, but that have made its operation possible.
The last item on the president’s agenda was the local development project Club Juvenil, which reopened its doors in February of last year, with various renovated areas.
According to the Presidency, after a successful 2023, with profits of almost 150 thousand pesos, the project did not start well in 2024 and seeks to bring its services to the communities.
