The Minister of Health, Guillermo Grieve, pointed out that this is a specific strategy carried out through the Low Acute Respiratory Infections Program (IRAB), by which material and human resources are reinforced in all health facilities in the province from the May 2 to August 31.

“We know the impact of respiratory infections, which, although the majority are viral, can get worse. That is why it is important to treat them early, with qualified personnel such as doctors, residents and nurses, and have the necessary beds in if hospitalization is required,” said the Minister of Health.

Through the IRAB 2024 Program, 12 respiratory posts with abbreviated hospitalization are put into operation, located in the reference centers of the capitals of the four health regions: Paraná, Concordia, Concepción del Uruguay and Gualeguaychú.

In this way, starting in May, the province organizes differentiated and priority care for children under six years of age with medical reinforcements. The proposal has the support and technical monitoring of the Directorate of Maternal, Child and Youth Health.

Each hospital is prepared to receive moderate to severe cases, derived from reference centers, and the resource of municipal health centers is also added, in an integrated work between jurisdictions.

Among the preventive actions recommended to the teams, the following are sought: stimulating pregnancy checks (from the first trimester); breastfeeding; vaccination and early consultation. The premise is to identify patients at risk of severe SARI. In addition, the work of diagnosis, response to treatment, priority of care and referrals is strengthened.

It is worth mentioning that the campaign was made official through Ministerial Resolution No. 1647, issued by the health portfolio.

The general directors of Essential Obstetric and Neonatal Conditions (CONE) and Perinatal Regionalization, Paulo Capotosti, participated in the event; from Nursing, Elisabet Franco, and from the First Level of Care, Gladys Arosio; the director of Maternal and Child Youth Health, Georgina López, together with the technical representatives of the IRAB Program, Damián Monzón and Natalia Dumé; the director of the CRR, Nicolás Roldán; and workers of the institution.
