In an extraordinary security council in which the Army, Police, Prosecutor’s Office and Air Force participated; complaints about the presence of FARC dissidents in the municipality of Anzoátegui were evaluated; which led to this warning being confirmed, as stated by Guillermo Alvira, security secretary of Tolima.
Just at the beginning of this week, Colonel Fabio Ojeda, commander of the Police in Tolima, alerted the presence of armed men wearing uniforms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces walking the streets of the Lisbon district in the municipality of Anzoátegui, north of the department. Immediately afterwards, these people painted notices alluding to the new Farc EP Central Block on the facades of some homes.

“It is no secret to anyone that a few days ago we held a meeting in the municipality of Alvarado where A message had been given to the municipalities of Alvarado, Venadillo, Anzoátegui and Santa Isabel where they had been told that there was no presence of the FARC dissidents there.“Today, unfortunately this has changed, in the municipality of Anzoátegui we have a very small presence of 7 to 10 of these individuals who are present, that is why we have taken forceful actions to capture them,” said the security secretary.
According to Alvira, since the day this presence became known, control has been carried out in the territory with the Army, “That is the commitment of the Army without abandoning other areas, starting next Monday the Cobra Group will be there, There are also intelligence men there that will allow us to advance, and we will expedite arrest warrants against these criminals.”
The authorities revealed that In the north of Tolima the leader of the dissidents would be alias ‘Miller’ or ‘Granadillo’ for which a reward is being prepared, until a week ago these types of groups were only in the south of the region.
