A mega operation took place this Wednesday in Villa La Tela neighborhood, from the city of Córdoba. According to police sources, there were 30 raids and the arrest of 15 people.
The operation was ordered by Attorney General Raúl Garzón, together with Control Judge Juan Manuel Fernández López.
“The deployment is carried out by personnel from the Automotive Theft Department dependent on the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations. It should be added that the arrest warrants were issued following a raid carried out months ago where personnel from the aforementioned Department were ambushed in those circumstances,” the Police stated.
About the raids in the Villa La Tela neighborhood
The Police specified that these procedures were developed in relation to gangs dedicated to theft, cooling, disarmament and cutting of vehicles, which operate by stealing vehicles from any point in the city to be taken to a bunker where they are disassembled.
“These destination places are small houses, in many cases without inhabitants and function only as scrapyards,” they concluded in the report.
Members of the General Directorate of Capital Security also participated in the device; Air Patrol; Infantry Guard; SEOM; Motorcycles; Special Units and Territorial and Proximity Police, among others, with the collaboration of the Anti-Drug Police Force and federal forces (Airport Police and Gendarmerie).
Likewise, Cadastre personnel joined the Operation for the purposes of determining and delimiting the usurped lands; members of the Senaf, in the event that there are minors involved in any of the crimes in the area, and the Municipality of Córdoba, with the presence of road machines in order to demolish these bunkers.
