More than 350 boys and girls between 8 and 14 years old participated in the athletics, table tennis and indoor soccer sessions that took place between this Thursday and Friday in the towns of José de San Martín and Gobernador Costa, respectively, as part of the 2024 Communal Games.
The towns of Aldea Atilio Viglione, Paso de Indios, Río Pico, Tecka, Gobernador Costa and José de San Martín were part of Zonal VI.
Inaugural events were held at both venues, which were led by the head of Chubut Deportes, Milton Reyes, who was accompanied by the area secretaries of the participating locations.
Integral Project
Reyes once again highlighted the importance of this program and pointed out that “today I have to be in a privileged place, in which we discuss social sports policies, such as the Community Games.”
He maintained that it is “a comprehensive project that was approved by Governor Torres, who made the political decision that this had to be done. Not only is it sport, but there are also people from Culture with various workshops; Health, with important talks; also Education and the Ministry of Government, with the DNI. It is a comprehensive work that seeks to leave something in each location we visit.”
Later, he assessed that “today there is a Government with commitment and will to ensure that the children of the interior have their own games and a competition that can be sustained over time”, highlighting in this sense that “this is the first stage and the children They must continue training because there will be a second round after August. “Let them take advantage of this opportunity and return with the desire to make a commitment in sport.”
As a final message to the children, Reyes stated that “the key to success, beyond winning a race or not, is being a good person. We have to make every effort, every day, to be a better person. Demonstrate what we like to do and seek to fulfill our own dreams.”
What’s coming
Once this third week of Community Games competitions has concluded, the programming will continue in the month of May, with Zonal VII that will be held in Alto Río Senguer and II, which will be held in the Valley, both without a confirmed date.
Zonal VII will be made up of boys and girls from the towns of Alto Río Senguer, Aldea Apeleg, Aldea Beleiro, Buen Pasto, El Chalía, Facundo, Lago Blanco, Ricardo Rojas and Río Mayo.
Meanwhile, Zonal II will be made up of 28 de Julio, Cerro Cóndor, Camarones, Florentino Ameghino Dam, Dolavon, El Mirasol, Los Altares, Puerto Pirámides and Las Plumas.
With these two dates the first round of Communal Games 2024 will end, which will continue from August.
