The heads of Health of Cuba, José Ángel Portal, and of Mexico, Jorge Carlos Alcocer, ratified the will to strengthen the links and collaboration that exist today in that sector, as an expression of brotherhood and solidarity.

During the official working visit carried out by the minister of the Caribbean island to the nation of the Aztecs, in the exchanges held this Thursday and Friday, the mutual interest in advancing the development of joint projects in the health field was evident, reported the website of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).

At the meetings, the value of Cuban professionals who provide services in Mexico was recognized, a friendly country to which we are united by strong and historical ties of cooperation and in which, according to Portal, the sense of duty, sensitivity and quality prevail. of medical practice, together with the possibility of sharing knowledge.

For his part, the Mexican Secretary of Health thanked his Antillean colleagues for their dedication and dedication in intricate and difficult-to-access areas in their nation, where the island’s collaborators carry out vital and essential pro-life services on a daily basis.

Portal and the delegation accompanying him visited the Laboratory for Analytical Control and Expansion of Risk Coverage in Mexico, a national reference center for protection against health vulnerabilities, in order to consolidate work systems and links in scientific and investigative matters.

They also toured the Central Institute of Pediatrics and the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies, both of the Mexican Government, where they exchanged ideas on how to face common challenges in the field of Medicine and Biotechnology, for the benefit of the population.

As part of his activities on Mexican soil, Portal had an exchange with the Cuban diplomatic personnel accredited there, to whom he explained the current economic and social situation in the midst of a battle for the macroeconomic stabilization of the country, impacted by a tightened US blockade.

Likewise, he thanked them for the support they offer, with their daily work, to the essential work of Cuban Health collaborators.
