The success of the ‘Let’s go back to My Beautiful Cali’ strategy is due to the response of the public and private sectors and the unity of citizens.

The initiative ‘Let’s go back to my beautiful Cali’, led by Mayor Alejandro Eder, to recover the public space of the Valle del Cauca capital, reached places in April that, thanks to the intervention of District organizations, the Government of the Valley, the company private sector, social organizations, the JAL (Local Administrative Boards), JAC (Community Action Boards) and the community in general, show a renewed face in 21 neighborhoods of 13 communes.

In the 60th intervention of the initiative, carried out on April 25 in the Loma de la Cruz Artisan Park, Mayor Eder indicated that “we continue, with the support of the citizens, in the purpose of recovering Cali; We cannot continue living with our city in the state it is in; and in addition, we are preparing for COP16, the largest environmental event that has ever been presented in our country.”

The strategy has empowered the community, the private sector and social organizations that aspire to recover public spaces. “’Let’s go back to my beautiful Cali’ is a movement that unites the District Administration bodies, private companies, associations and foundations and the most important actor, the community; all this with the purpose of recovering the city,” indicated the Secretary of Territorial Development and Citizen Participation of Cali, Alexander Camacho Erazo.

During the month of April, organizations of the Cali Mayor’s Office such as the UAESP (Special Administrative Unit of Public Services), the Dagma, the secretariats of Territorial Development and Citizen Participation, Security and Justice, Social Welfare, Culture, Mobility, Peace and Culture Ciudadana, Infrastructure and Sports, and entities such as Propacífico, Compromiso Valle, Acodrés, Droguería San Jorge and Vistex, among others, joined ‘Let’s go back to my beautiful Cali’, with the purpose of contributing to the recovery of the city.

José Antonio Tascón Durán, representative of Social Responsibility Vistex Colombia, highlighted: “what we wanted to do is bring together all the companies that are around; Giros y Finanzas, Banco Unión, Mauro Llantas, SAG Valle and some merchants on Avenida Sexta are helping us. The idea is that all citizens unite and make Cali the civic city that we were years ago. I know that together we can achieve it; We have to unite and not divide, taking advantage of the fact that we have a very good mayor. So I invite all Cali people to have the city ready for COP16 and show the best side of Cali and Colombia,” said the executive.
