Urban dances, up for debate at Casa del Joven Creador – Periódico Invasor

Dance as a spiritual expression of young people, the professionalization of amateur artists and the need to promote novel projects that involve the alternation of contemporary genres with more traditional ones, were some of the topics debated this Tuesday in the A Rajatabla space, which takes place every month at the House of the Young Creator of Ciego de Ávila.

On this occasion, the members of the Gamahd dance group, composed of very young people from Avila, who for six years have been mixing K-pop with a wide variety of other artistic genres, exchanged on the topic.

The socialization and dissemination of the work of the young creators of Ciego de Ávila, especially that of those who defend urban dance, was up for debate at the meeting; At the same time, the authorities of the Hermanos Saíz Association offered their premises to Gamahd so that he could make regular presentations there.

The peña, led by the writer Vasily Mendoza Pérez, an honorary member of the Hermanos Saíz Association, coincided this month with the celebrations for the second edition of the International Dancing at Home Day, an event that, these days, brings together artists from the patio , and also foreigners, in the interest of exchanging about Avilanian dance art.
