The conviction occurred within the framework of an abbreviated trial agreement reached by the Prosecutor, the accused and his defense attorney. The agreement was approved by the Court, made up of judges Felicia Barrios (president of the procedure), María Alejandra Tolaba, and judge Elio Luciano Yapura.

The summary trial is a judicial procedure that allows a case to be resolved in a single oral hearing. For this procedure to be applicable, it is necessary that the Prosecutor considers that it is appropriate to apply a custodial sentence to the accused and that the accused, assisted by his defender, admit the existence of the fact and his participation in it.

Thefts in Alto Comedero

The events for which Peralta was convicted occurred between 2018 and 2022 in the Alto Comedero neighborhood. The accused committed robberies in different homes and businesses, stealing various goods such as gas bottles, merchandise, SUBE cards, cash, televisions, cell phones, appliances, tools and other items.

In one of the episodes, Peralta acted alongside another subject who could not be identified. Both stole a backpack with belongings from a woman on a soccer field in the Alto Comedero neighborhood. The victim managed to subdue Peralta with the help of other people, but the other criminal escaped on a motorcycle with the stolen objects.

In this case, the prosecutor Marcelo Cuellar, and the defender, Ezequiel Martínez, agreed to the effective sentence of 5 years in prison. The Court, after analyzing the agreement and the evidence presented, approved the sentence and ordered the immediate transfer of Peralta to the Provincial Penitentiary Service.
