Teachers’ uncertainty continues due to the change in the health model, however, unilateral Cosmitet decided to provide services in Caldas for 15 more days, this with the aim of attending to emergencies and not leaving teachers without a health provider. Simultaneously, the new health operators for the teaching profession have arrived in Caldas, however, until now there is no clarity as to who they are in their entirety.

“We have some names, but we want to confirm directly with the legal representatives, but we learned from FIDUPREVISORA that the teachers in Manizales will be treated at the Caldas Hospital and in San Marcel,” said Juan Carlos Martínez, president of Educal, a union of teachers. Educators of Caldas.

According to the Caldas teachers, the new model began with a national network in the 32 departments of the country, made up of more than 3,000 health providers., of which, 524 are part of the primary level care network and 2,843 are part of the complementary care network. In this department, the new health model contemplates the care of more than 20 thousand people.

“We are going to have a single operation with a national interconnection, that is, we are going to serve teachers in all parts of the country. The most important thing is that there will be an end to intermediaries in our health system,” Martínez argued.
