The reported closures are in the north east ear of the Horacio Toro bridge; in the depressed of the musicians; and on Carrera 80 with Calle 61, a north-south ear that connects with route 4.1 to the west. The secretariat’s recommendations are to take alternate routes and drive with caution.

Floods in El Retiro due to the overflow of two streams

Another of the places where the rains hit hard this Saturday morning is El Retiro, in the east of the department. Felipe Puerta, Secretary of Government of the municipality, confirmed that they are carrying out the diagnosis of the real effects, but that they are certain of at least two critical points.

One of them is at the entrance to the municipality, in the D1 sector and the Pinares gas station and the other is a hardware store that is close to that place. The images from these sites show significant flooding, although the official added that water levels have begun to drop.

This was caused by the overflowing of the two streams in the town, the Agudelo and the Pantanito. In the affected areas, mobility is being restricted to control the situation and avoid greater risks. The municipal risk management council was activated and operators, machinery, traffic agents and mayoral staff are arriving at the sites to take charge of any action that must be taken.

So far, no injuries have been reported in any of the reported events, but the authorities recommend traveling with caution on roads with flooding.
