Two singer-songwriters, Andrea Gómez and Roche Carbajo, plus two musicians, Coqui Medina and Nico Vergara. But two plus two will be four only sometimes. Because one of the singer-songwriters may do it alone or both may share the stage. Or that one of the musicians joins in and forms a trio of voices and base.
Anything can happen tonight in that kind of warm living room that the La Vereda Cultural space (Alderete and Tucumán, Neuquén) offers. This show of songs by authors, with tickets at $3,500, will begin at 9 p.m.
Andrea Gómez and Roche Carbajo have their respective projects, Andrea Gómez Plan and Papel Glasé, respectively. They write their own songs and often collaborate with each other. For example, Roche provided winds and voices in “Paloma”, Andrea’s brand new single that she will present tonight.
“We make a genre that is close to pop and roots music,” says Andrea Gómez, in a telephone conversation with Diario RÍO NEGRO, regarding this Saturday’s show. “What the song has is that what matters is its message. We work on both forms of composition.
About her repertoire, Andrea says: “I’m going to sing my songs, there are some that are on my first album and others that I composed later since that album came out five years ago. Now I was recording little by little. My part of the show will be with many songs that were left out and that I have been working on stage for a long time.”
Among their most current songs will be “Pandemi”, in addition to the aforementioned “Paloma”. The thing is like this, Andrea Gómez was working on two projects, one of her own and another shared with fellow singer-songwriter Maca Montovi called “Mujer al Sur.”
On the one hand, a conceptual work divided into two albums, “La Intimata” and “El Exterior”, which would succeed “Andrea Gómez”, her self-titled debut album from 2019. “Paloma” is part of “La Intimata” and “Pandemi”. ”, from “Intimacy”. “Paloma has already been recorded and is in the process of mixing and mastering, while “Pandemi” went to the project shared with Maca Montovi.
Mujer al Sur is a project by Maca Montovi that brought together a group of local singer-songwriters, including Andrea Gómez. “With Mujer al Sur we have been working since the pandemic, in 2021, on the recording of each of our songs and, in that repertoire, there is Pandemi, which I hope to also release this year,” says the singer from Jujuy who has been living in the city for years. city of Neuquén.
Andrea assumes she is more focused on working on songs rather than on an album itself, even though the songs for her conceptual project are already there. “I have two singles guaranteed for this year, then I will try to put in as many songs as possible, but it is not easy to record and it is not being very profitable to make an album.”
