Two villages in the municipality of Montebello, a few kilometers from Medellín (Antioquia), are in serious emergency due to a flood that devastated, on May 4, dozens of houses in a rural area.

These are the images shared by the governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón:

According to Governor Rendón, there are no fatalities reported. Likewise, he arranged for the Administrative Department of Risk Management of Antioquia and the Physical Infrastructure Secretariat of the department to respond to the emergency.

On the other hand, information about The Colombian, establishes that the serious flood had its origin in a damming that generated what is called a “torrential avenue.” They handle information on at least 30 affected homes.

Likewise, regional media report that the mayor of Montebello, Óscar Ernesto Cuervo, assured that all the people in the affected village were evacuated in time. However, there are still people on the wing of the mountain, waiting for rescue from the authorities.

The Administrative Department of Risk Management of Antioquia confirmed that there were two injured people, who have already been transferred to the Montebello hospital. The affected houses could have been 40 and the village is cut off by land. There are also no reported missing persons.
