On its penultimate date, the FITCuba 2024 International Tourism Fair will be used to finalize negotiations and new agreements with international entities that acquire legal value, in this attempt to recover a strategic sector and, therefore, re-boost the national economy.

With this objective, the first vice minister of the branch, María del Carmen Orellana Alvarado, informed Invasor that this Saturday the 4th the Cuban Ministry of Tourism will sign agreements with its counterparts in Granada and Mozambique for exchanges, tourist operations and training.

Orellana Alvarado declared that from the initial day, significant agreements were reached in Jardines del Rey, including that of the hotel that is the headquarters of the main activities, which signed a marketing and administration contract with the commercial company Meliá Hotels Internacional and since then began to be called Meliá Costa Rey – formerly Gran Marena, belonging to the Cuban hotel chain Gran Caribe.

During the opening day, with the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic, Manuel Marrero Cruz, and Juan Carlos García Granda, head of Mintur, another transaction was carried out between Cubanacán SA and MGM Muthu Hotels Resorts, now representative of the Santiago hotel Segundo Forehead.

Finally, the first deputy minister referred to the announcement by the airline Air France to increase the frequency of trips in the summer period and to make it daily during the high season of foreign tourism.

In order to fulfill the purpose of increasing the arrival of visitors, FITCuba was the bridge to reincorporate operations with the airlines Air China and Avianca SA, from May 17 and June 6, respectively, according to Cubadebate.

About 50 professionals from 18 airlines will gather at this meeting north of Ciego de Ávila, including senior managers and executives from companies that produce aircraft parts, the aforementioned media outlet highlighted.
