The District Education Secretariat, led by Sandra Patricia Muñoz Dorado, has confirmed that in the Enrollment System (Simat) during the 2024 school year, the growth rate was maintained and reports a total of 86,002 students, compared to 85,529 in the 2023, evidencing an increase of more than 450 students in levels from zero to eleventh grade.
The information was provided by Alexis Varela, director of Educational Coverage of the District Education Secretariat, during the meeting of rectors held this Tuesday in the Liceo Samario library.
This corresponds to the projection expected by Sandra Patricia Muñoz, who, following the guidelines of Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello, has focused on organizing the house and regaining the trust of parents in the official educational system, as well as dignifying school environments. for students, teaching and administrative staff, in order to move towards improving the educational quality of the district.
«Today we have a registration record above last year; When comparing it with the November 15, 2023 cutoff, we observe an increase in enrollment. However, we want to ensure that correct characterization processes are carried out so that all students are registered. As we all know, the premise is that a student who is not in Simat does not exist, and that is why we are providing the necessary technical assistance so that both rectors and administrators of Simat can do their work in the best way,” said Alexis Varela, director of Educational Coverage of the District Education Secretariat.

The meeting of rectors included a talk between some members of the technical team of the Education office, office leaders and directors, to update topics related to Coverage, the area of Educational Quality and the School Feeding Program, among others.
