The Government consolidates the strategy in the Senate and seeks to turn six votes to approve the Bases Law

The half sanction to the Base Law in the Chamber of Deputies was held with restraint in the government of Javier Milei. However, in the Casa Rosada they are optimistic about what could happen in the Senate. Although the scenario is announced to be even, they believe that they have chance to change the vote of six senatorsa figure sufficient to achieve approval of the text.

In the Upper House, Union for the Homeland adds 33 senators, which leaves them only 4 votes away from having numbers to reject the project. Therefore, the Government approaches the smaller blockswho respond to the governors, and negotiate economic agreements with the provinces.

“We are talking with all the governors and we hope that there are no changes to the law in the Senate,” said Francos, although from the Casa Rosada They foresee strong resistance to the restitution of the fourth category of the Income tax. “The law is important for the provinces, not only because of the fiscal issue, but because there are a series of regulations that promote investments,” he said.

At Balcarce 50 They offered governors to reactivate some national public works projects that were left without financing after Milei took over. This is the case of some northern leaders such as Gerardo Zamora (Santiago del Estero), Raúl Jalil (Catamarca), Osvaldo Jaldo (Tucumán) and Hugo Passalacqua (Misiones).
