The International Hospital of Colombia (HIC) gave a reassurance report on the health of the engineer and former presidential candidate Rodolfo Hernández, who this morning was transferred to the emergency room due to severe abdominal pain. In a court hearing, Hernández revealed that he has colon cancer.
During this May 4, the information was handled that Hernández was under intensive care and that his health was compromised, however, the Hospital assured that the engineer is already hospitalized and that he is in the process of post-surgical recovery.
“So far he remains stable and in acceptable general health conditions. The engineer will continue under constant supervision and care of our specialized medical team,” the HIC explained in a statement.
Various media outlets that contacted those close to Hernández explained that the pain was such that he had to be transferred immediately, which is why he had to undergo emergency surgery.
On March 14, when a judge was going to read the meaning of the ruling against him for the Vitalogic corruption case, engineer Hernández burst into tears when specifying his state of health, revealing that he suffers from colon cancer.
As it is, Hernández is recovering, after having overcome the abdominal pain that afflicted him this Saturday morning. His family asked for prayers and hopes for a speedy recovery of the political leader.
