The Government of Chubut, led by Ignacio “Nacho” Torres, plans the next “Operational Winter Plan 2024” which involves the deployment of a significant number of material and human resources from different areas of the State in order to ensure transitability in the territory and provide alerts in the event of climatic contingencies in the province during the winter season.
In this sense, the Minister of Security and Justice, Héctor Iturrioz, and the president of the Provincial Road Administration (AVP), Hernán Tórtola, led a meeting with the participation of different organizations to define the work criteria.
The meeting, held at the AVP facilities in Rawson, was attended by the Secretary of Citizen Liaison, Laura Mirantes; the Undersecretary of Municipal Affairs, Genaro Pérez; the Undersecretary of Security, Claudio Fernández; the Undersecretary of Citizen Protection, Eduardo Pérez; the Undersecretary of Justice, Rodrigo Miquelarena; the Undersecretary of Road Safety, Germán Lagos; the deputy chief of the Chubut Police, Mauricio Zabala; the president of the ‘Despierta Chubut’ Block of the Legislature, Daniel Hollman; the Minister of Tourism, Diego Lapenna, representatives of the Directorate of Transportation and the Ministries of Economy and Health.

QR code to access information
In this Plan, the Security and Justice portfolio will put into operation a new ‘QR code’ system with updated information on the status of routes, service stations and other preventive issues that people traveling through the provincial territory will be able to access on their cell phones.
In particular, it was highlighted that the Undersecretary of Citizen Protection will be the entity that will serve as spokesperson and coordinator to report on possible route closures due to adverse weather conditions.
