Hospital room inaugurated at San José de Maicao hospital

President presented the new extramural teams of the preventive health care model

To its arrival to the department of La Guajira, this Saturday May 4President Gustavo Petro visited the San José de Maicao hospital, where he inaugurated a hospitalization room and made important announcements for the sector health of the municipality and the region.

It is a multifunctional hospital room, which required an investment of 3,788 million pesos, contributed by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which comes into operation with 18 new beds duly equipped and equipped, thus improving the resolution capacity and medical care of the San José de Maicao Hospital.

The president also presented the new extramural equipment who will provide their service from the healthcare center, with a view to guaranteeing comprehensive care for Wayuu families in their own territory.

This as part of the strategy of preventive and predictive health model promoted by the Government of Change, and within the actions to mitigate child malnutrition in the department of La Guajira.

Likewise, the head of state will deliver a truck-type vehicle that will allow the mobilization of this equipment throughout the territory, as well as basic equipment for 40 assistants of indigenous nursing, act that will be accompanied by traditional Wayuu authorities.
