The Provincial Bureau of the National Association of Small Farmers (Anap) in Santiago de Cuba, highlighted the work of cadres, farmers and cooperative members, for the productive results and support for the revolutionary work, in the context of the 65th anniversary of the Signing of the Agrarian Reform Law.

The event was chaired by Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, First Secretary of the Party in the territory; Manuel Falcón Hernández, Governor; George Olivares Massó, provincial president of Anap, and Idelkis Ríos Cateura, official of the National Directorate of the ‘Association’.

In the Stained Glass Hall of the Plaza de la Revolución, the Romárico Cordero Medal was awarded, which is awarded by the Council of State to those who have a work history of more than 20 years in the organization, and who for their effort and dedication have deserved previously recognized as National Vanguard.

At the same time, the Antero Regalado distinction was conferred on anapists with a decade dedicated to fulfilling tasks.

Likewise, the José Ramírez Cruz Special Seal was awarded to those who have accumulated two decades or more in the service of the ‘Association’.

In the central words, Yuneisy Calunga La O, Member of the Provincial Bureau of Anap, stressed the duty of farmers to produce for the people, regardless of the adversities and challenges imposed by the blockade. He expressed that the objectives of the organization are to contribute to the economic development of the country and the search for alternatives to obtain results. “There are plenty of reasons not to give up the entrusted mission,” he stated.

Among the dates commemorated in the event, is the commemoration of the 129th anniversary of the meeting of José Martí, Máximo Gómez and Antonio Maceo at the La Mejorana farm, on May 5, 1895.
