This was the signing of the contract for the sale of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters to Argentina

After a few weeks of a historic milestone for Argentina, the Danish Air Force Photographic Service recently published the images corresponding to what was the signing of the contract for the sale of 24 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters. The gallery not only allows us to relive the signing of the long-awaited agreement, but also gives us some additional details of what the event was and its participants.

As can be seen in the images, the ceremony included the participation of at least four Danish F-16 Fighting Falcons. In the static display you can identify the F-16AM E-018 and the F-16BM ET199 (with Argentine cockade and flag), both aircraft sporting the characteristic Have Glass V scheme. While the single-seat F-16 was equipped with AIM missiles -120 AMRAAM and an AMA pod, the two-seater displays the panoply of Danish fighters: AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, a GBU-31 JDAM guided bomb, four GBU-39B SDB bombs mounted on the BRU-61/A pylon and the AN/AAQ-28(V) Litening G4 pod.

The outside activities included the F-16BM ET613, an aircraft that was crewed by the Minister of Defense Luis Petri. The F-16AM E-006 was in charge of the aerial demonstration before the political and military authorities present at the Skrydstrup Air Base. The latter included Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, Lieutenant General Kim Jesper Jørgensen, Head of the Danish Defense Acquisition and Logistics Organization, Defense Chief General Michael Hyldgaard and Lieutenant Colonel Casper Børge Nielsen, officer in charge of the sale of the F-16 to Argentina.

The Argentine delegation was led by Minister Petri, the Head of the EMCO of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Xavier Julián Isaac, the JEMGFAA, Brigadier Major Fernando Luis Mengo and the Secretary of International Affairs of Defense, Juan Battaleme. Vice Commodore Giaccaglia, Sosa, Cavallera and Llana were also present, as can be seen in the photographs.

The sequence captured by the Danish Air Force Photographic Service not only immortalized a historic moment for Argentina and the Air Force, but also captured the unconcealable joy of the Argentine personnel who were in Skrydstrup.
