The history of the province of Santa Fe was enriched by the role that thousands of immigrants had in the founding of each territory of the boot, contributing to the formation of its social, cultural and economic structures; of their habits, traditions and beliefs. An example of this is the city of Esperanza, in the Las Colonias department, which was founded on September 8, 1856 by about two hundred European farming families. As a way to value the participation of these people in local history, the Festival of Collectives is held every year.

Recognizing the value that this type of activities has in the different cities of our province, the Government of Santa Fe, through the Secretariat of Tourism of the Ministry of Productive Development, will accompany a new edition of the traditional event that this year will be on the 11th and May 12 at the fairgrounds of the Esperanza Industry, Commerce and Residents Center (Cicae). That is why the Secretary of Tourism, Marcela Aeberhard, received at the headquarters of the productive portfolio the municipal authorities of Esperanza and representatives of the communities that will be present at the two days, which will feature musical and dance shows, gastronomic proposals, among other attractions.

Tourism, identity and production

“We work intensely on the Tourism Strengthening Plan and this support for the Festival of the Collectives of Hope is linked to that,” said Aeberhard and completed: “These events identify us and it is important to give them visibility at a provincial level. Governor Maximiliano Pullaro’s request is that we work closely with local administrations so that we reflect that our productive matrix accounts for the great diversity of celebrations that exist throughout the width of the province. We have surveyed more than 368 parties, many that have to do with the productive profile, gastronomy and music.

Obviously we always want to improve them, for that we also carry out a program together with Assal, which is the Quality Seal in Gastronomic Festivals. We want to prioritize them and invite other provinces to attend, what this type of festival implies makes people respond very well and attend en masse. We believe that this local tourism that we are promoting can give a lot of content to these festivals so that they are very popular.”

Gratitude and expectation

The official presentation in Esperanza was attended by the municipal secretaries of Innovation and Economic Development, María Victoria Nagel, and of Culture and Education, Melania Reini, and the municipal director of Tourism, Cecilia Belotti.
“I think that there is a very great enrichment as a result of the clash of these cultures and that, over time, it has shown how beneficial it is to know other cultures,” said Reini and then noted that “that is what makes it so interesting.” to this party. We invite everyone this May 11 and 12 to be part and enjoy all the proposals.”

Provincial deputy Jimena Senn was also present, saying that “this festival represents our roots, it shows where we come from and how the city developed, who were its first inhabitants. That also paved the way to get to where Esperanza is, which is a city that welcomes you with open arms and that has people who come from different origins, where different religious expressions coexist. Our origins are represented in this festival and we always say that we have to know where we come from to know where we are going.”

About the party

The Swiss, German, French, Spanish, Luxembourgish, Polish, Czech, Belgian, Syrian-Lebanese communities and the Valesanos de Esperanza Association will be part of the event. In addition, the Venezuelan community and the “El Potrillo” Traditional Group will participate as special guests.
