Concern among the inhabitants of the Oil Port due to the streak of homicides that have been recorded so far in 2024 in Barrancabermeja, Santander.
Homicide number 50 in Barrancabermeja in the year 2024 occurred in the 20 de Agosto neighborhood at 2:45 am this Saturday, May 4.
The fatal victim was Jaider Alonso Gómez Cifuentes, 19 years old, Colombian and resident of Barrancabermeja, Santander, who received a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
It was learned that Jaider was dedicated to various jobs, lived in a free union, and it is being investigated what he did in the early morning hours on public roads in the 20 de Agosto neighborhood.
According to the Magdalena Medio Police report, the 19-year-old young man was sent on a motorcycle to the La Magdalena Clinic, where he received first aid, but died due to the severity of his injuries.
“The citizens tell us that a male person was injured in strange circumstances, which would be a shot produced by a firearm at the level of the abdomen. Neighborhood work is carried out, but the citizens do not express any information that leads to clarifying the motives for what happened,” said the Magdalena Medio Police, Demam.
The CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office was in charge of the urgent actions, the transfer of the body from the medical center to Forensic Medicine and the progress of the investigations is expected to clarify homicide number 50 in the Oil District.
