Before the beginning of the rainy season, the Drinking Water, Sewage and Sanitation Operating Agency (Interapas) plans to carry out preventive cleaning work in five sumps in the capital, to avoid blockages in the drainage.
The maneuvers will be carried out in the lifts: Los Molinos, La Libertad, Manuel José Othón, Pemex and Puente Naranja, and the cleaning of manholes will also be extended in the municipalities of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez and Cerro de San Pedro.
Although abundant rainfall is not forecast during the dry season, it is important that the population support flood prevention efforts by not throwing garbage in the streets or leaving garbage bags near the sewers, as this will prevent the drains from flooding. collapse
It is important to observe the following recommendations:
1.-Do not throw garbage in the streets and sweep the front of the house to remove leaf litter and dirt.
2.-Do not remove the manhole covers so that the water level drops faster, because that will cause the force of the water to drag garbage and everything in its path.
3.-Automotive and edible oil does not go to the sewer, they are deposited in PED bottles or bags, they are delivered to specialized sites.
4.- Food waste should be placed in bags or containers and placed in the trash can. Service yard drains, showers or garages must be kept clean.
5.- Do not take garbage bags out onto the streets, wait for the collection truck to pass so that the waste does not disperse.
6.-In the case of butcher shops, workshops and food businesses, traps must be placed so that food waste does not go into the drain. Among other recommendations.
Among the waste that is extracted from the sewer, it is very common to remove clothing, plastics, tires, shoes, dead animals, hair, hardened grease, furniture parts, mops, etc.
