The governor of La Guajira, Jairo Aguilar Deluque, participated in a follow-up meeting convened by the Ministry of Mines, where the progress and challenges of energy projects in Colombia were addressed, highlighting the fundamental role that the department plays in the energy transition of the country.
During the meeting, the governor emphasized the commitment to turn La Guajira into the spearhead of the country’s energy transition, promoting strategic projects such as Alpha and Beta, among others, that contribute to this transformation. Likewise, he highlighted the importance of actively involving communities in this process, promoting joint work between the state, companies and citizens.
“The transition will not only be energetic, but also economic and quality of life, care for the environment, communities and business development must be correctly articulated. With the energy transformation, water will also come, the governor highlighted.
Likewise, he also highlighted the coordinated work between the National Government, companies, communities and local governments to overcome the challenges that arise on this path towards energy sustainability.
The governor stressed the importance of taking advantage of the local workforce and the region’s natural resources, such as wind and sun, to consolidate sustainable energy projects that benefit both the department and the environment.
In this context, he called to continue trusting in La Guajira as a favorable scenario for the consolidation of energy projects that contribute to the competitive and sustainable development of the region and the country as a whole.
