The Regional Meeting of the World Peace Council, WPC, for the Americas takes place this Monday in the historic Hall of Stained Glass, in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Antonio Maceo.
With the tribute to the heroes of the Homeland in the Santa Ifigenia Heritage Cemetery, the activities of this event began.
Niurka Bell, member of the Bureau of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, in Santiago de Cuba, on behalf of the political and governmental authorities of the territory when welcoming the representatives of 11 organizations in the region, recalled the validity of Martí’s thought and solidarity with Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz to defend just causes in any hemisphere and his vision of the future.
He stressed that this meeting is of great value and impact for the people of America, the Caribbean and the World, since to advance in integration and unity, peace is essential, based on respect for principles and non-interference. in internal affairs.

In her speech, the Santiago leader called to convince all worthy men and women to seek unity as the only factor in all victories.
During the meeting, Fernando González Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, presented the report of the work carried out by THE CMP in the Latin American and Caribbean area, specified the complex scenario that the region is experiencing and affirmed solidarity with the peoples under occupation and colonial rule or there is a foreign military presence.
Cuba has taken important steps with pacifist organizations throughout the world in favor of peace.
It will be the occasion to present the activities for the 75th Anniversary of the World Peace Rabbit and the statement of the meeting will be presented.
The meeting is attended by representatives of 11 organizations as permanent members and guests of the World Peace Council from Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Nicaragua, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Barbados and Cuba, as well as Cyprus Noriega and Sweden.
