The candidate for mayor of the capital of Potosí Sonia Mendoza, On this day, when presenting his plan and proposals, he indicated that the support of the state and the federation will be required, since the municipality does not have the resources needed to invest that exceed 4 billion pesos.

Mendoza Díaz indicated that from the outset it is necessary to completely rehabilitate the water network of the city, since it is collapsed and almost 50 percent of the water is wasted, however for this at least one billion pesos are needed.

The former senator said that steps can be taken to use the water currently used by the Villa de Reyes Thermoelectric Plant, it will first have to be given a purification treatment and then channeled to San Luis Potosí, but it will not be enough, it must also be increased. the capture with the construction of at least two dams whose projects already exist, that of “Las Escobas” and “El Potosino”.

Another point is to reconfigure the rates for the water supply, as he pointed out that citizens are currently charged when the reality is that they are not receiving the service, so the charges proposed are based on the liquid being supplied. receives.

Finally, and questioned in this regard, she acknowledged that the water operating body of the metropolitan area (Interapas) is a bureaucratic and “obese” apparatus that is not doing its job, so it will have to be analyzed to reform it or even eliminate it completely to create a new organism or instance that is efficient.

For his part, the candidate for mayor of San Luis Potosí for the Fuerza y ​​Corazón por San Luis coalition, Enrique Galindo Ceballos, He recently held a citizen consultation forum “Water, a challenge for everyone” there, presenting his proposal to carry out a sectorization of the water service, the generation of new water infrastructure, as well as the rehabilitation of the existing one.

Enrique Galindo Ceballos pointed out that the proposal for the next three years will be to convert drinking water, sewage and sanitation in a municipal area, as well as recover the Tenorio Tank Wastewater Treatment Plant, to be managed by the City Council and that the use of water in the Industrial Zone be paid to the municipality, in order to strengthen other areas of the city.

“One proposal is to complete the modernization, until reaching the more than 140 wells that the city has, because these actions prevented us from experiencing a social crisis.”
