With more than 18 years of experience, Flavio Carabalí assumes the role of Undersecretary of Populations and Ethnicities in the Ministry of Social Welfare. Graduated in Government and International Business from the Universidad del Externado de Colombia and in project management from the Universidad de los Andes, he has a double specialization in government and public affairs management from the Universities of Columbia and Externado de Colombia, he has dedicated his career to promote the inclusion and recognition of the country’s ethnic populations.

The new Undersecretary has developed an outstanding career in the field of international cooperation, exercising a leadership role in organizations such as ACDI/VOCA Colombia. From there he strengthened his commitment to diversity and inclusion that has led him to lead key programs focused on Afro-descendant and indigenous communities, with a special focus on political, economic and social inclusion in priority cities in the country.

Additionally, he has worked closely with international organizations, managing resources for programs that promote reconciliation and development in post-conflict contexts. As regional director in Cali, he implemented initiatives aimed at the ‘Resilient Youth’ project, promoting processes focused on employment, family roots and psychosocial support.

As part of the challenges he has to recover Cali and from his professional experience, he will work to seek opportunities for economic, political and social inclusion to generate a broad and inclusive agenda that responds to the greatest number of needs of the populations that are part of it. from the city.

In his new role as Undersecretary of Populations and Ethnicities, Carabalí faces important challenges in a city that demands a solid focus on inclusion and reconciliation. His commitment to community work and his comprehensive vision will be tools that will allow him to face these challenges and promote significant change for the benefit of all people, regardless of their ethnic or cultural origin.
