The tobacco sector of the province of Misiones expressed its repudiation of the two national deputies of the province who voted against the incorporation of the Tobacco Chapter in the Base Law and expressed that they are “complicit in an evasion system.”
Through a statement signed by the president of the Tobacco Planters Association, Carlos Knoll, and of head of the Misiones Tobacco Chamber, Gustavo Piñeirothey aimed directly against Emmanuel Bianchetti (PRO) and Florencia Klipauka (La Libertad Avanza) accusing them of “supporting a system of evasion and corruption” that caused considerable losses to the national and provincial treasury, as well as to tobacco producers by definancing the Special Tobacco Fund (FET).
“It is evident and their actions confirm it, these legislators did not fulfill their function of representing the people, listening to them and legislating accordingly. “These people, with their attitude, turned their backs on the tobacco growers,” the text reads.

On the other hand, the document claims the renewing deputies of Federal Innovation, Alberto Arrúa, Carlos Fernández, Yamila Ruiz, and Daniel Vancsik; and the radical, Martín Arjolfor “the courage to promote, incorporate and approve the tobacco chapter, so important and vital” for the sector.
“We thank and accompany the mAgro inister Facundo López Sartori and the provincial leaders, fundamentally the governors of Misiones and Salta, Hugo Passalacqua and Gustavo Sáenz who ‘played’ making this situation visible in all areas, which made it possible for the tobacco bill to be debated and approved again,” they added.
In the statement, the tobacco leaders pointed out that “the national State fails to comply with the health care precepts for smoking, since the prices of all cigarettes that are marketed should be high to discourage consumption, a situation that does not happen today. ”.
They maintain that “the norm, even with a medium sanction, will reverse this situation and at the same time avoids the Collection losses that today are projected at more than U$ 2,000 million per yearconsequently for the provinces and the producers.”
“Finally, we urge national senators to approve the basic law with the tobacco chapter incorporated, since we understand that it is the only way to end the privileges of companies that evade and corrupt the system.
