(ADN).- “This strike has several recipients. Not only President Milei, but also the governors and senators who will have to deal with the Base Law, and for the four or five business groups that are currently partners of the national Executive.” Rodolfo Aguiar’s phrase resonates strongly in Río Negro, after Alberto Weretilneck’s warning: “do not try to condition us.”

The head of ATE encouraged the national strike called by the CGT for Thursday, May 9, and said that the union he leads will seek to extend the measure of force to the state bodies of the provinces and municipalities.

“In the Public Administration, except for minimum guards in essential services, no one is going to go to their jobs. There is growing social unrest, we are entering an economic depression that hits absolutely all social sectors,” Aguiar said.

During the measure of force, only minimum guards will be guaranteed in hospitals, care centers for older adults, adolescents and children, and in essential services to deal with emergencies.

The Secretary General of ATE evaluated that “there is majority opposition among the people to all the measures promoted by the national Government,” and detailed: “The labor reform proposed in the Bases Law constitutes a regression to the last Military Dictatorship. It was in de facto governments where a severance fund was created and made available to all workers.”

“This strike has several recipients. Not only are the demands for President Milei, but also for the governors and senators who will have to deal with the Base Law, and for the four or five business groups that are currently partners of the national Executive,” he noted.

And he concluded: “We have to think about declaring an active strike throughout the country on the day the law is discussed in the Senate. In the case of ATE, after May 9 we will immediately convene our organic bodies to define new force measures and give continuity to the action plan within the State.”

The force measure will reach the public administrations of the 23 provinces, plus the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, and the more than 2,200 municipalities throughout the country, the vast majority of which are the most neglected sectors in terms of salaries.

ATE has been promoting the call for a general strike for months through the organic bodies of the CTA Autonomous, a labor union that makes up the state union, understanding that the adjustment policies of Javier Milei’s government not only harm the public sector, but also the entire population in general.

In this framework, the union will demand:

-Immediate reinstatement of all those laid off and stopping layoffs.

-Regularization of all contractual links and move to Permanent Plant
all workers.

-Salary and retirement increases that exceed inflation.

-Rejection of the restitution of Income Tax.

-Cessation of adjustment, misery and hunger policies.

-Rejection of any privatization of public companies.

-Defense of the Sustainability Guarantee Fund (FGS) and all the
retired workers.

-Annulment of the Anti-Mobilization Protocol.

-Cessation of intimidation policies towards state workers.

-No to the restitution of Income Tax

-Annulment of DNU 70/23.

-Rejection of the Base Law.
