A sector of the Green Alliance party is asking the directives for the immediate expulsion of the president of Congress, Ivan Nameand the former Minister for the Regions, Sandra Ortiz, of the community. The request is made following the allegations that have been made against them regarding the alleged case of corruption in the UNGRD.

This was made known by some of the militants of this political force, who held a press conference in Congress on May 7: “This measure is essential to preserve the credibility and legitimacy of our political party, as well as to demonstrate our commitment.” firm with transparency, ethics and justice,” said Senator Ariel Ávila.
Along with Ávila were Bogotá councilor Julián Triana and former senator Antonio Sanguino, who reported on the creation of an anti-corruption commission to investigate cases of alleged corruption involving both leaders of the Green Alliance and government officials.

The Green Party is not facing its best moment, as the group’s split due to differences in political positions is close, and two of its most recognized figures have presented their resignation: the former mayors of Bogotá Antanas Mockus and Claudia López.
