Passerini signed an agreement to generate 500 formal jobs

The mayor Daniel Passerini participated yesterday in the signing of an agreement with Evoltis, Konecta, Multiconex, Apex, VN Global BPO, Voicenter, Telemercado and General Collect, by which 500 formal, direct and quality jobs will be created in the Knowledge Economy sector. They were also part of the firm Mariela Bercovichowner of Córdoba Acelera and Marcelo Becharaowner of the BPO & KPO Córdoba Cluster.

The program, which has been executed since 2023 between the Municipality of Córdoba −through the Córdoba Acelera entity− and the BPO & KPO Córdoba Cluster, with the support of the ATACC union, offers residents the possibility of obtaining a job in a context complicated. “Today we are building capital and opportunities with community organizations that want the same thing as us: to progress. And the only way out is by generating working conditions and investments, what the Córdoba State is doing is being part of the solutions.Passerini assured.

Through this new agreement, the eight companies that make up the cluster will incorporate at least 500 formal collaborators as employees before December 31, 2024. Part of the workers’ remuneration will be covered by the municipality through an Activated Card.

This employment generation program demonstrates that the coordination between the public and private sectors allows the implementation of policies with economic and social impact for the development of Córdoba Capital, incorporating more people into the world of work.

“This meeting reflects the social capital we have in Córdoba, a vision shared between the three sectors: private, public and the union, because we want Córdoba to be the reference for the Knowledge Economy sector,” said Bechara.

The Knowledge Economy is the third provincial industry in terms of economic impact and in Córdoba it brings together 40% of total national employment in the sector. An increase in employment demand and exports is estimated for 2024.

The year 2023, a success story

During the past year, this public-private coordination allowed the incorporation of some 1,000 formal workers to the different companies of the BPO & KPO Córdoba Cluster.

98% of the beneficiaries of the “Institutional Cluster Support Program” were young people under 35 years of age, in many cases providing the opportunity for a first job, and 80% of the total were women, of which 25% are mothers. .

This number means that approximately 20% of the jobs in these companies were generated thanks to the work of the Municipality of Córdoba with the cluster and the companies.

These indicators are not minor, taking into account that 50% of the companies related to the knowledge sector in the country operate in the city of Córdoba.

“It is an effort by the public and private sectors with the support of the union, a great desire that the city has. Last year, more than 1,000 formal and direct positions were created and this year we are betting on new positions again,” Bercovich concluded.
