The Concordia police detained a person in connection with the crime of a woman and the subsequent fire of her home in which a 97-year-old man, the woman’s father, suffered severe injuries. The incident occurred in a home on Calle Liniers and Misiones in the Nébel neighborhood.
The victim is a woman identified as Norma Alegre, between 65 and 70 years old, who was found with around eight stab wounds after firefighters went in to put out the fire. After committing the crime, the criminal set fire inside the house, in order to erase evidence that could implicate him, after which he escaped from the place by jumping over the fence in front of the property.

A man was detained due to family suspicions and information provided by some neighbors who pointed to a subject who had already stolen some items from the place when he went to do painting work. Fact for which the family would have filed the corresponding complaint.
Among the pieces of evidence to incriminate him are the images from a security camera, which would show the suspect prowling around the house in the early hours of this Tuesday morning.
As one of the first measures, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the delay of the suspect and the Guarantee Judge was informed of the measure, published Río Uruguay Newspaper.
