This year, Romerías de Mayo celebrated the 65th anniversaries of Casa de las Américas and the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).

In Babel, a space for the plastic arts, this 2024 dedicated to photography, around 20 samples of young creators were exhibited, along with established artists such as the 2011 National Prize for Plastic Arts, Ernesto Fernández, Humberto Mayol, Roberto Chile and Julio Larramendi .

The performing arts and dance had a vital space with shows in squares and parks of this city in eastern Cuba.

There was no shortage of literature display with poetry readings and book presentations at events such as La Isla en Verso, Proemio and Shared Words, hosted by the local Ediciones La Luz.

The music was hand in hand with the talent of exponents such as the Swiss flutist Antipe Da Stella and renowned national artists such as Nelson Valdés, Polito Ibáñez, the Dúo Iris, Roly Berrío, Carlos Lage, Tony Ávila, among other groups and soloists. who starred in the spaces I want a song, Unlocking the trova, The plaza of young art and the Jazz Corner.

The May Pilgrimage also promoted the rescue of Cuban national traditions with the presentations of the French Tomb of Bejuco and the Charity of the East, of Santiago de Cuba.

During these days, the Hermanos Avilés Orchestra and the Holguin troubadour, Fernando Cabrejas, also received the 60th Anniversary award from the Musical Recordings and Editions Company (Egrem).

More than 500 delegates from 10 nations and Cuba participated in the XXXI May Pilgrimage.
