TheMunicipal Urban Planning Management (GMU) of Córdoba has presented this Wednesday a new internal operating organizational chart that aims to streamline the procedures that citizens have to do with this public body and promote those projects considered strategic in nature For the city. The president of the Urban Planning Management,Miguel Angel Torricoand the manager, Julián Álvarez, have explained the keys to these changes, which will go to the next governing council, which is held on Tuesday of next week.
According to Torrico, the objective of this change is “improve the quality of the service we provide to the people of Córdoba, as well as the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the Management services”. The modification, added the president of the GMU, is due to several things: the detection of certain demands by the citizen, the entity projects that the city has underway and the entry into force of the urban planning law List.
Torrico has advanced that the new organizational chart “is only the beginning” of what he has called “a new Urban Planning Management”, whose transformation will culminate with an adaptation of its statutes and a new list of jobs (RPT).
How is the Urban Planning Management changing?
Some of the changes introduced by the organizational chart are already effective, such as the reinforcement of management positions of the Management. This reinforcement has led to a more significant technical direction, and the two new services and another seven new offices (some already underway, such as the Territory or the Historic helmet).
That technical direction, which falls to Luis Valdelomaris entrusted with the city’s strategic projects (such as the promotion of the La Rinconada industrial estate, next to the Logistics Base).

The two new services that are created are that of Strategic Actions (here would come the offices of the Territory and the Casco, which is already working on the modification of the Pepch for the issue of solar panels) and that of Presidency (with three new offices: Coordination and Studies, Digital Transformation and Quality). The three major areas of work
The Urban Planning Management will function, once the organizational chart is approved, under three main areas: the directive, the administration, economics and heritage and the technical.
- Management area: The manager, the board of directors and the general intervention are part of it.
- Administration, economy and heritage area: It includes the presidency and the offices of Coordination and Studies, Digital Transformation and Quality). The human resources management is included (with the personnel and resources service and the urban discipline service).
- Technical area: It includes the Licensing service (with the building license office, the activity license office and other technical offices) and the Strategic Actions service (with the strategic authorization licensing offices, the hull office and the territorial office). ). The Planning and Sustainability service and the Projects and Works service will also depend on the technical area.

Among the objectives of these changes, Torrico has recognized, is also theagility in granting licenses, one of the weaknesses of the Urban Planning Management.
