Participation in the recently concluded International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2024, in the province of Las Tunas, well called the Balcony of eastern Cuba, was focused on the promotion of all its tourist attractions, which include sites, attributes and events, both cultural and natural, in addition to exhibiting products linked to local producers, in particular the project with Tecnoazúcar, manufacturer of rums of recognized quality. This was stated, exclusively for Excelencias, by the delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in that territory, Lendis Ulacia Granda.
“In addition to that, we took the opportunity to exchange with travel agencies, tour operators and members of fam groups interested in staying in our territory as part of their programs, in which they would take tours of the city, visit sites of cultural interest and have lunch. on the Peralejo route, Islazul facility, or in Palmares Extrahotel Group restaurants, among other options.”
In general, he stated, “they were very productive days, of interesting exchange and conception of projects that, if materialized, would allow significant progress in the promotion of the destination, which would contribute to the increase of visitors to our territory, which in itself is not a tourist hub, but as a tourist destination it has many attractions that we can exploit and promote, and visitors can enjoy them.”
Regarding the destination’s hotel plant, he said that in the province they have three main hotels: two city hotels, located in the capital and belonging to the Islazul chain – Las Tunas hotels, with 142 rooms, and Cadillac, with eight; and, located on Covarrubias beach, where the main tourist offer is concentrated, is the Muthu Las Tunas Playa Covarrubias, with 180 rooms, currently closed and undergoing repairs, preparing it to begin providing services soon. In addition, the destination offers lodging facilities in villas, camping bases and rental houses.
