Franklin Tolosa Yáñez, executive director of Corpocerohighlighted that the problem is afflicting them to a great extent, but was emphatic in highlighting that a large part of the responsibility for the presence of this population in street conditions lies with the inhabitants of the area themselves, for poor waste management.

He also highlighted that the inhabitants of streets “They must be treated with a public policy that does not exist in the department“It is a demand that we must make to the new government.” He recalled that homeless residents should be invited to be included in the care route that allows their rehabilitation, that is, their rights as people cannot be violated. “The majority of street dwellers are drug addicts and many of them live their own hells (…) Business and citizens would like not to see street dwellers consuming in public spaces, but public policy and adequate investment must be required for their intervention.”
