Five people were arrested for the theft of badges that were later offered for sale in the Corrientes town of Riachuelo, police sources reported this Wednesday.

Corrientes Police officers were alerted that at a home on National Route No. 12, unknown persons had stolen several zinc sheets and 15 meters of wire mesh, in three 5-meter sections.

For this reason, the police began investigations into the case and in the vicinity of the place they discovered that three adult men were transporting some zinc sheets in a Peugeot 504 truck.

At the time of discovery, the subjects stated that the plates had been purchased in good faith from a family in the area.

Subsequently, and continuing with the investigative lines, on the public road they proceeded to arrest two brothers, who were the sellers.

Furthermore, after a raid on the two brothers’ home, they found and seized zinc sheets of different sizes and a bundle of woven wire.

The delayed persons and everything seized were placed at the disposal of the intervening tax authority while the proceedings and procedures in this regard continue.
