Since September 2023, they have not received their salaries, many teachers had power outages in their homes because they do not have the means to pay their bills, there are also oncology patients waiting to receive their salaries. There are other cases that date back to March 2023. The educators provide services in establishments dependent on Private Education but the situation expands to the entire teaching universe.

Regarding the distressing economic and social situation that the country is going through, that of Corrientes substitute teachers is even much darker. They work, but they do not receive their salaries without knowing why, perhaps due to bureaucratic intricacies.

This is the situation of educators who have not received their salaries since September 2023. “We present all the requests to Private Education but they always tell us the same thing, that the file is going to be released, but that’s how we have been since September of last year. There are other cases that are waiting to be paid since March 2023,” explained a teacher who provides services at a school in the city of Corrientes.

He explained that the situation is not exclusive – to his establishment – in the area of Private Education, the drama extends to the middle and higher levels.

They ask that the procedures simply be streamlined “it cannot be so many months without being paid, we are working and we fulfill all our responsibilities. In addition to the fact that we are trained for this, to teach, to carry out the task of teachers,” he remarked.
