Unit 1 of the Lidio Ramón Pérez thermoelectric plant (CTE), of Felton, in Mayarí, Holguín, continues with its maintenance schedule, whose actions are on date, for its next synchronization in the first days of June.

This block, when synchronized with the National Electric System, must provide between 240 and 250 megawatts of generation.

Yesterday, Vicente de la O Levy, Minister of Energy and Mines, and Joel Queipo Ruiz, first secretary of the Party in the province, arrived at that location of the thermal generation, along with other authorities, to check the execution of the maintenance, as part of the direct monitoring given to the country’s electro-energy situation, both leaders reported in their accounts in X.

According to recent statements by engineer Eric Milanés Quinzán, general director of cte Felton, to the territory’s Citizen Portal, the actions foresee the replacement of sectors in the boiler walls and the washing of the convective axis, as well as the replacement of the Damaged wedges of regenerative air heaters, manufactured for the first time in the emce metalwork workshops in Felton.

He explained that this maintenance now includes an unplanned technical evaluation in areas of the turbine to analyze anomalies in the spinner motor that moves its rotor, which presented problems on the fourth day after stopping operations, among other works.

Milanés Quinzán commented, in reference to block two, that the dismantling of the boiler structure for its rehabilitation has already been completed. This unit was damaged by a fire in July 2022, when it was estimated to be incorporated into the sen, with around 220 megawatts.
