Five cases served, a treacherous murder and no one responsible. Two weeks have passed since the body of Romina Karban (30) was found in a field Chaco which was property of his family. The woman was headed to her brother’s house, but she never arrived at her destination. So far, the murder weapon has not been found and concern is growing on the part of the complainant.

It all started with the disappearance report filed by his partner, Ariel Ojeda, after he declared having seen her for the last time on the morning of May 8. Around 7:30 a.m., the victim left her house located in the town of Sáenz Peña on a motorcycle, with the intention of visiting her brother.

As the hours passed, the relatives became alarmed because the woman never arrived at her destination and it was impossible to communicate with her. The search ended the next day after a police vehicle discovered that Karban’s motorcycle had been abandoned in a field. A few meters from the vehicle, the agents found his lifeless body along with a backpack and his belongings.

At first glance, the woman seemed to have been killed with a single shot, but the results of the autopsy performed on her remains revealed that, in reality, there were five shots that ended her life. “The evidence categorically indicates that Romina was killed in the place where she was found, with 5 gunshots, all of them from the back to the front,” stated the plaintiff lawyer, Cristian Aranaabout the two impacts he received in the head and in the back.

“Romina did not present other injuries compatible with signs of struggle or defense, which is why we think that the shots took her by surprise, which could also indicate that she was killed treacherously and treacherously,” the lawyer analyzed the scenario in the one where Karban was murdered. However, little or nothing is known about the alleged perpetrators, which has been an obstacle in resolving the facts.

The homicide investigation fell into the hands of the prosecutor Liliana Lupi, who ordered to reinforce searches in the area where the crime was committed, in the hope of finding the whereabouts of the murder weapon. According to information obtained by Chaco Diaryyesterday a new raid was carried out in the field where the woman was found, with the aim of finding new evidence that would lead to those involved.

So far, the seizure of the five served pods that were found around the crime scene allowed investigators to determine that they are looking for a 9 millimeter caliber pistol. However, the discovery of the weapon could pave the way, in case fingerprints were detected that could lead to the genetic profile of the author.

The motive for the crime became another of the obstacles faced by the authorities, although the possibility that it could be related to a family inmate was not ruled out. The Attorney General of the Province, Jorge Canterosannounced that there would be three people in the crosshairs and that the cover of the case could change to “alleged femicide, especially because of the violence with which they executed the victim.”

“From the first moment we worked in silence to link three people, some of whom could be one of the murderers, or a necessary participant. And everyone knows Romina,” the public official explained, pointing out that the woman could have been summoned by a person close to her in that place. For this reason, it is believed that her execution would have taken place behind her back “because her murderer did not dare to look at her face.”

According to statements collected by North NewspaperCanteros stressed that in the raids, conclusive evidence was found that would reinforce the hypothesis that the homicide was motivated by a problem in the family circle. Although many of the details are kept confidential, he revealed that in one of the relatives’ properties it was discovered that a shotgun had been hidden during the first procedure, but that it was seized to be subjected to the corresponding examinations and finish confirm if it was the murder weapon.

The prosecutor stressed that the results of the tests carried out on cell phones in the area would be key to formulating the accusations. “Everything will depend on the interweaving of messages and calls from cell phones that are being assessed against the clock,” the researchers explained when announcing that the information would be available this Friday.

On the other hand, the lawyer expressed his concern about the lack of presumed culprits for the crime by pointing out that “the days go by and he or the highly dangerous murderers are probably walking among good people.” Furthermore, he asked the Justice Department to “put all human and material resources, especially technological, at the service of the intervening fiscal team to clarify this aberrant fact as soon as possible.”
