In an effort to solve road congestion problems, Bogotá is developing several mobility projects. One of the most notable is the construction of the First Metro Linea monumental work that will connect the sectors of Bosa, Kennedy, Puente Aranda, Los Mártires, Antonio Nariño, Santa Fe, Chapinero, Teusaquillo and Barrios Unidos, significantly reducing travel time to 27 minutes.

Although the mayor of Bogotá expects this project to be completed at the end of 2028, The ongoing works have raised a number of concerns among residents of affected areas. Complaints from citizens have increased, pointing out problems of insecurity and deplorable conditions in the areas surrounding the constructions.

Unless this road, which is the main access route for all heavy transport, is in better circumstances.”
