He National Metereological Service (SMN), through its Early Warning System, anticipates snowfall in several areas of Mendoza this Thursday.
The organization issued a alert yellow due to snow, and the news is that it is not only for the mountain range area, but some sectors of the plain will also be affected.
Among them, Junín, Rivadavia, Luján de Cuyo, San Carlos, Tunuyán and Tupungato, as well as the foothills and low area of Malargüe.
“The area will be affected by persistent snowfall. In high mountain areas, accumulated snow values between 30 and 70 cm are expected, which may be exceeded in a localized manner,” they detailed from the SMN.
And they added: “On the rest of the affected area, including the mountain area of San Luis, values between 3 to 5 cm are expected, and may be exceeded in a localized manner.”
Meanwhile, Climate Contingencies anticipated a “mostly cloudy and cold” day, with moderate winds from the southern sector and “isolated precipitation.”
A minimum of 3ºC and a maximum of 7ºC is expected.
