Concern about femicides in Cali

“The main balance is that security indicators continue to improve and so far in 2024 we have a 20% reduction in homicide. We are moving forward, but where we are stuck and where we are wrong is the issue of femicides and today I sadly have to announce that we have had 6 cases so far this year. That is why we are going to reinforce, not only the operations with the Public Force, but also the strategies to empower Cali women.”, assured the Mayor of Cali.

The Mayor added that “We must multiply the Cuidarte Ecosystems, like the one we already have in Comuna 15 and continue working to empower Cali women from the education of boys and girls, teaching them that women are respected and telling girls that they can achieve what they want and they can get ahead. In addition, we must support, above all, the empowerment of Cali women.”
