Technology Fair… setting foot (+photos) – Escambray

For three days, once again technologies and culture merged in the same space

Very close to the Yayabo River, technologies and artistic expressions merge once again in an event that, although young, already has its own personality, the La Guayabera 5.10 Technology Fair.

“We are committed to holding this tenth edition as a gift to the old city on its 510th birthday,” explained Carlo Figueroa, top leader of this proposal, which is co-sponsored by the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Communications. “We once again called on state agencies and new economic actors to make their products visible.”

After hearing about the call, about twenty stands raised their flag at the Casa de la Guayabera headquarters, where the public spoke with entities such as the Sur del Jíbaro Agroindustrial Grain Company, the Provincial Book Company, the University of Sancti Spíritus José Martí and from the non-state sector such as Sara’s salon and Solutel.

In addition to the mansion, located on one of the banks of the affluent symbol of the city of Yayabo, the garage of the Colonial Art Museum and the House of Musical Promotions also became the venue for the proposals.

“The Fair allows us to get closer to the public that already knows us and discover others. We are on social networks and, here we have learned how to exploit multimedia resources much more,” said Sara Rodríguez, who presented the Qué negra products.

During the three days, researchers from the territory presented studies on specific results of work in digital scenarios such as the Yayaberos 510 experience, an extension project of the Social Communication Career, at the University of Sancti Spíritus José Martí.

On this occasion, students from upper secondary and professional technical education attended these interesting options.

As usual, the conclusions of the La Guayabera Technology Fair will be with the presentation of awards for the best experiences. And on this tenth occasion, the Faílde Orchestra will give away its songs to the public who come to the Casa de la Guayabera.
