In the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Pinto, Magdalena, President Gustavo Petro led the delivery of the Yajaira farm to the Association of Agricultural Producers (Asopresab) so that they can carry out productive projects.
“Here Mr. Raúl Botero has decided to sell his Yajaira farm. This hacienda is an action that is not simply a commercial act, sale, as if you were buying a pair of pants or a shirt, but it symbolizes a lot, because the history of these regions, of the entire Caribbean, of a good part of Colombia, is the history of the fight for land.”

In this way, the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro Urrego, addressed the farmers of the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Pinto, in the department of Magdalena, to whom the Government, through the National Land Agency, made delivery of 658 hectares of fertile land, purchased from an Antioquia rancher.
“This is one of the days, the hours, the moments that I like the most about the Presidency of the Republic, because I specifically feel the realization of what I I call social justice“, the possibility of a government helping the most excluded population to have a space under these suns, in this land, and then peace can be built,” said the president.
Agrarian reform was another of the topics addressed by the president. In this regard, he said that it is not a whim, “on the contrary, it is a necessity of the Nation, if we want to industrialize the field has to be planted, if we want real justice, equity, the field has to be sown in the hands of the Colombian peasantry.”
