The information that was shared this Saturday, June 1, is that the Ministry of Transportation and the Superintendency of Transportation made inquiries in the National Cargo Registry, to verify that the two vehicles involved were up to date with the reports required by current regulations.
The Superintendent of Transportation, Ayda Lucy Ospina Arias, referred to this accident, pointing out that “We cannot continue allowing the businessmen, owners and drivers of the freight vehicles that travel on our roads to fail to comply with the regulations of the sector, We do not accept that due to non-observance of the law we have deaths on our roads. There is a specific rule on the reporting of information to the RNDC and the implementation of the Strategic Road Safety Plans.”
The first thing that was found is that the vehicle with license plates GHU313 reported that it was transporting 35,000 kilograms of fertilizer and coincides with what was found on the Calarcá-Cajamarca road. However, the vehicle with plates SOQ961 it would have been circulating with irregularities, this because it registered that it was transporting 1,000 kilograms represented in a container. But at the scene of the accident it was identified that he was actually loaded with porcelain and exceeding the reported weight.
“The other vehicle with plates SOQ961 recorded that it was transporting 1,000 kilograms represented in a container. However, after the on-site inspection, it can be seen that the vehicle with plates SOQ961 was actually loaded with porcelain. In addition to the above, DITRA reports show that “Presumably this vehicle could be traveling overweight and that the information reported in the RNDC did not coincide with reality.”indicates the report.
