Geronimo Heredia I couldn’t be happier on Saturday night at the Gigante de Alberdi stadium. The 19-year-old midfielder had entered in the second half to hold out in the game against Argentinos Juniors; the team was one less due to the red card that Pablo Chavarría had seen in the first half.
And Heredia starred in the heroic play of 1-0, at 21 of the complement. From afar he hit a right hand that gave Belgrano the victory.
At the end of the game he spoke with ESPN and told his feelings. “A goal that makes me very happy. As long as I can help the team, it does me good,” he started.
–What did coach Juan Cruz Real ask of you when he sent you to the field?
–We are getting a little used to encountering this type of matches (in which they are numerically disadvantaged). They always go uphill. Nooo, the coach asked me to be well organized, not to let balls leak from behind and to hit him with a club, because with that we would move the game forward.
