Conference on Special Education and Initial Training with students from IES N°6 – Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education, through the Special Education modality, actively participated in a conference organized by the career coordination of Special Education Teachers with a focus on Neuro-Motor disability, at the Institute of Higher Education (IES) No. 6 , El Carmen Headquarters.

The day was attended by the person responsible for the modality, Luciana Menacho, and the director of the Primary Level, Miguel Peñaloza. Likewise, the vice-rector of IES No. 6, Juan Carlos Flores, and the Career Coordinator, Paola Asteti were present supporting the students and teachers.

The main objective of the event was to offer a talk to the students of the program, highlighting the importance of initial training and professionalism of the special education teacher.

During the day, crucial topics were addressed such as the transversality of the modality in the inclusion processes, teamwork, the regulatory framework, and the relevant aspects of the work between the Support Configuration Schools and the different educational levels.

Likewise, the articulation of the Active Participation Plans (PPA) with the different educational levels and modalities was discussed, thus guaranteeing the education of Students with Disabilities (EcD).

The event was an invaluable opportunity for the students, who were able to interact and learn directly from experienced professionals in the field of special education.

The vice-rector of IES No. 6, Juan Carlos Flores, and the Career Coordinator, Paola Asteti were present supporting the students and teachers in their training process.

Luciana Menacho highlighted the importance of these meetings to strengthen the training process of future teachers, emphasizing that “initial training is essential to ensure that educators are well prepared to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that inclusive education presents.”

For his part, Peñaloza emphasized the value of teamwork and collaboration between different educational modalities and levels, stating that “only through a joint effort can we guarantee inclusive and quality education for all students.”

The day concluded with an exchange of ideas and experiences between students and invited professionals, reinforcing the commitment of all those present to inclusive education and continuous professional development in the field of special education.
