The Traffic and Transportation Section of Barranquilla reported that during this festive weekend of “Corpus Christi” They registered seven accidents with the same number of injuries and one person dead.
The authorities had all their capacity in seven prevention and control areas on the main road corridors, tourist sites, exits and entrances of the city, in order to guarantee safety and mobility for all passengers.
“117 thousand vehicles entered the city, 489 summonses were applied, 145 vehicles were immobilized, 30 of these drivers under the influence of alcohol“, reported Lieutenant Colonel Julio Olaya Vargas, Traffic and Transportation Section Chief of the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police.
The uniformed officer noted that “There were seven road accidents, in which seven people were injured and unfortunately, one person lost his life.”.

The mission of the Traffic and Transportation Directorate of the National Police is to reduce road accidents.
“We will be dedicated to the main entrances and exits of our city to guarantee a safe return and culminate this Corpus Christi weekend by celebrating with family with road safety.”. added the Traffic Section Chief.
